How to book:
The menopause transition can be hugely confusing for people. With so much conflicting information out there it can be thoroughly discombobulating trying to sift through the fiction and identify the fact.
This half-day session is for women approaching, going through, or out the other side of the menopause and anyone with an interest in the topic and is in three parts.
Part 1: The menopause
- What is the menopause?
- What are the phases?
- Life-cycle of hormones
- A personal story: what may happen
- Possible ‘symptoms’
- Personal and professional impact
- Possible misdiagnosis
Part 2: Medical options
- Hormone Replacement Therapy
- Constituents of HRT and purpose
- Routes of delivery
- Risks and benefits
- Lifestyle risks
- Bio identical and body identical HRT
- Breast cancer and lifestyle risks discussed
Part 3: Non-medical options
- Alternatives to HRT
- The Second Spring
